We are a voluntary group set up by Sure Start Erewash and the local Primary Health Care Trust (PCT) in 2005 to offer support and help to anyone in the Erewash area who plans to or is breastfeeding regardless of stage in pregnancy or age of child. Since March 2008 the group has been independant working closely with the Health visitors and Health workers based in Ilkeston.
The Peer Support Counsellors are volunteers who have done extensive trained using various well known training programmes compiled by the leading support networks for breasteeding and are also mothers who have breastfed their children. As we are a voluntary group and due to insurance we are unable to do home visits unless we accompany a health professional, however we can and do the following;
Help and support via the telephone.

We visit the Parent Craft sessions at Ilkeston Hospital.*
We visit the local baby clinics.

Visit any other groups which may benefit from our support.
